Other Information Our “Start Sailing 1” adult learn to sail dinghy teaches adults & youth sailors(12 yo +) all the skills necessary to safely skipper & crew off the beach sailing dinghies on Port Phillip. This introductory course is conducted over four 3 hour sessions. Skills taught include setting up a dinghy, launch & recovery, how to sail a course, tacking and gybing, trimming sails and safe capsize recovery. This fun "hands - on" course is suitable for women and men who are new to sailing. The course is conducted within the safe environs of St.Kilda harbour by Yachting Australia trained sailing instructors. If you plan to go on and sail on keelboats this introductory course teaches sailing fundamentals. The course fee is $298. Course fee includes a Yachting Australia sailing textbook, “Start Sailing Right”, logbook and course certificate.
