Activity Days Sunday Social Racing and Junior training from October to April (Easter) Saturday Social sailing and Adult training from November to April (Easter)
Club Activities Junior Sailing Program: Rye Yacht Club offers Yachting Australia Accredited Learn To Sail courses for Junior Sailors twice each summer season. We cater for sailing at 3 different levels: - Start Sailing 1 - for beginners. - Start Sailing 2 - to introduce some more advanced skills and techniques. - Introduction to Racing - to provide the basic knowledge for sailors to join in with Junior Racing. Adult Learn To Sail Program: Rye Yacht Club offers three 6-week Learn-to-Sail courses (Yachting Australia Accredited, Start Sailing 1&2) for adults each summer season. Our season starts on the last weekend in October and runs until late April the following year. Courses are run on Saturdays between 10am-3pm, using 2-person Pacer dinghies (we have 5 available) and a number of single person boats (Sabre, Laser, Paper Tiger). You can also do our course using your own boat if you have one. Cost: Club Members $120 and Non Club Members $250
Open times 9:00am-5:00pm Sundays 10:30am - 3:30 pm Saturdays (when Adult training is conducted)
Other information Rye Yacht Club is a small, friendly, informal Club. It was formed in 1970 by a group of residents and regular visitors who had already established an informal pattern of yacht racing at Rye, and wanted to set up a proper facility for the local community to fully enjoy yachting and associated water activities. Today, about 70 per cent of members are local residents, and the Club is very actively involved in the local community. The Club operates an interesting and varied sailing and social programme throughout the season and visitors and new members are always welcome.
